Designing Business with a Strategic Lens

Today marks the beginning of Pill 4 – Business Strategy & Planning, led by Daniele Radici. The session opened with a deep dive into the fundamentals of business modelling, guiding students through the language and logic of how service-based businesses create, deliver, and capture value.

From defining key terms like CAPEX, OPEX, and cash flow to exploring the difference between business models and business plans, students began building a foundation for thinking about business through a design-driven, strategic lens.

The day concluded with a hands-on introduction to the Business Model Canvas, preparing students to apply this tool to a real-world case tomorrow. With theory and practice working hand in hand, the class is now set to move from business understanding to business design.
