Exploring Service Design Tools in practice
Over the past few days, Valentina Auricchio and Marta Corubolo led the module focused on the fundamentals of Service Design tools.
Throughout the module, students explored the origins and development of design methods, with a focus on the most relevant tools used in service design practice. The sessions alternated between theoretical moments and applied activities, encouraging participants to observe and break down existing services through a critical analysis approach.
By working with tools such as Stakeholder Maps, Personas, Journey Maps, Service Blueprints, and many others, students learned how to read, represent, and design services in a structured way. Particular attention was given to the ability to adapt tools to different project contexts, supporting informed decisions about when and how to use them.
By the end of the module, participants had built a solid foundation on the role of tools within the design process, ready to face upcoming design challenges with greater confidence.
