New partnership between the Specializing Master in Service Design and AFM Crema

We’re proud to announce a new partnership between the Specializing Master in Service Design at POLI.design – Politecnico di Milano and AFM Crema.

AFM Crema (Azienda Farmaceutica Municipalizzata) has played a key role in shaping accessible healthcare services since the 1970s, when the municipality expanded pharmaceutical coverage beyond the city center to reach underserved neighborhoods. Over time, it has evolved into a structured and forward-looking organization, growing into a network of six pharmacies across the Cremasco area and continuously investing in modernization, most recently with the new automated facility in Ombriano opened in 2025.

Within this collaboration, Filippo Scorsetti, Director of the Crema Nuova Pharmacy, will contribute his strategic vision and experience from within the organization, while Enrico Tedoldi, workshop lead, will facilitate the connection between the Specializing Master in Service Design and AFM Crema, guiding the process and helping translate academic approaches into concrete public service innovation.

This partnership will focus on exploring how service design can support the evolution of public pharmaceutical services, combining innovation with a strong human-centered approach. Through dedicated activities, students will engage with real challenges, contributing to the development of accessible, efficient, and community-driven healthcare solutions.

As part of the initiative, Filippo Scorsetti shared his perspective on the value of the collaboration and the evolving role of pharmacies within local communities:

“I’m truly glad to be part of this collaboration with the Master in Service Design. For us, it’s a unique opportunity to engage with international students and design experts, and to be inspired by the way they approach complex challenges. I deeply believe in the distinctive value of design, especially as a tool to explore and amplify the social value of the pharmacy. Today, a pharmacy is much more than a place to collect medication; it is a vital community hub for proximity, listening, and support. I am confident that, through this collaboration, we will see the birth of solutions that put people at the center, creating a tangible impact on the well-being of the community and the territory we serve.”

A shared journey connecting education and public service, to shape the future of care at a local level. Special thanks to Antonio Geraci, President of AFM Crema, and Alessandro Pisano, General Director of AFM Crema, for their valuable support in making this collaboration come to life.
