Back to the roots — and beyond

Four months after introducing the students to the very basics of Service Design, Francesca Foglieni returns to guide them through one of the most complex and timely aspects of the discipline: Service Evaluation.

In this Pill, students are exploring the value of impact measurement and evaluation tools for Service Design. After a theoretical overview of service evaluation and its role throughout the design process, they are now working in groups to apply frameworks and tools, to one of the service concepts they developed at the beginning of the year, during their first Concept and Prototyping module.

Through this exercise, they are learning how to assess the potential of a design solution, define impact indicators, and reflect on the evolution of their work with a new, strategic lens.
