Shaping the future of tomorrow's services, learning from Alessandro Redondi the secret ingredients

After exploring Virtual Reality, which opened the door to the Metaverse, and after investigating some AI cases and receiving an inspirational tech overview, the journey into emerging technologies continues. It’s time to put hands in the dough, and give it a try. In particular, Alessandro Redondi, associate professor with the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano, has developed a module that offers an introduction to Artificial Intelligence tools and Internet of Things systems, technologies which have an enormous associated potential.

AI and IoT are envisioned to revolutionize many aspects of our everyday lives, with big implications on how we live, work, move, and interact with the environment, using these technologies independently or in combination. This lecture, composed of both theoretical lectures as well as practical activities, aims to explain the basic concepts behind the two technologies such as the building blocks (things, connectivity, data) of any IoT system, and the fundamental steps needed for AI services.

Thanks to his experience in IoT system design and optimization & network data analytics, he is delivering a better understanding of the topic. The session is structured balancing theoretical content and practical exercises, in which students deal with MQTT Protocols and the Thingspeak platform, in order to create a simple IoT App, applying the concepts learned in a real-world setting.

How and what will help us to create forecasts, to guide tomorrow’s future? For our service design students, it’s the time to discover it and learn how to move in that field.
