Systems Within Systems
After two days of intensive reflection and exploration, the Systemic Design module led by Sine Celik has come to a close. Throughout the course, students were invited to shift their perspectives—zooming out to see systems as interconnected wholes, and zooming in to understand the deeper structures behind surface-level problems.
From mapping stakeholders and relationships to identifying leverage points and system archetypes, the class applied a range of tools to navigate complexity. Through collaborative activities, students uncovered how social systems function, and how design can intervene with empathy and intention.
The module concluded with a collective reflection, encouraging students to bring systemic awareness into their design practices. Equipped with a new set of lenses, they are now ready to engage with complexity, not as a limitation, but as a space for meaningful intervention.
