Delving into Concept Generation techniques and Rapid Prototyping!

Welcome to Concept Generation Techniques and Rapid Prototyping modules, the service designers’ bread and butter. Let’s take note of the recipe for conscious, reasoned, and functional service design.

Over the next five days, the practitioner Marc Garcia Fortuny will explore concept generation and rapid prototyping in-depth, in order to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to transform ideas into tangible, impactful projects. These two modules aim to allow the participants to grasp the project from idea to pre-implementation. For beginners, it is very important to realize how & why to ideate a service and why & how to prototype a service, emphasizing the frameworks of these two interconnected approaches and processes

During the week, we are going to go deep into the practical meaning and the techniques of generating ideas and prototyping them, in an iterative mode. Students will be provided with an overview of existing ideation and prototyping tools typically adopted by service designers. These are all very useful ingredients testing, and students will have the opportunity to test them along the week. They will experiment with the most suitable prototype framework, walking through the theory with a hands-on approach: students first brainstorm new concepts and then they will evolve them through prototyping.

Make conscious decisions, and leave the project free to evolve, curious to find out what will come out of the oven!
